Fun Day
The main purpose of Fun Day for children is simple. Make a visit to the dentist fun and help promote dental health.

Our latest Easter funday was full of Easter theme crafts and healthy snacks.
Our Previous Fun Days
During 2006 we ran four special funday events at Easter, Summer, Halloween and Christmas.
Our first fun day began with only 24 children in Easter 06. Children along with their parents were invited to enjoy having a hands on approach to learning about teeth and healthy eating.
There was a real sharks skull, a beaver"s skull and even an authentic human skull among others. The children were fascinated at how all the animals had different types of teeth and how they grew and compared it to our own.
At the end of the party everyone received a party bag and a balloon
We were totally delighted with the feedback and were encouraged to run with it on a regular basis, which we did. The Second Fun Day ran in August 06 where we had a beach party theme.
On our third funday we had a special visitor - celebrity cook and author Jenny Bristow. Jenny rolled up her sleeves, put on her apron and made ultra low sugar biscuits with the children.
At Christmas, we had a visit from Santa. Our young patients had a super afternoon playing games and making christmas cards and decorations. Which was the highlight, the check-up or the visit with Santa - it was hard to say!!!
Spring Funday saw more crafts with little treasure boxes to decorate and take home. There was also a Who was I quiz with nine skulls and pictures to match. Everyone was encouraged to taste some new fruit they hadn't tried before...Even the adults hadn't seen all the exotic fruits we'd found!
Our Easter Funday was a busy afternoon. There were dozens of eggs waiting to be decorated; and decorated they were with smiley faces and felt hats. Gill and Joanna were on hand at the craft table all afternoon. Everyone had a nibble on some tooth friendly snacks and had a chance to show off their teeth before leaving with a party bag and balloon.
We had lots of excitement with TV cameras and photographers at our national smile month funday and at our last Funday we had a guest storyteller to entertain us and a photographer to capture the fun.
Our autumn funday had no shortage of Halloween decorations and tasty nibbles.
